Who here goes to a gym at least 3 times a week? If so, what excercises and machines do you use?
I usually go 4 to 5 times a week, depending on my schedule.
I do 40 reps a day at 45 lbs on this machine that tones your back and your shoulders, 40 reps at 25 lbs on this machine where you push the bar forward, and another 20-30 reps at 60 lbs on the machine where you pull the bars around you in a kind of semicircle to tone my pecs, 40 sit ups, 2000+ strides just to tone my ass and an additional 1000+ to tone my thighs and calves, and numerous curls and freeweights.

I only do aerobic exercise at the gym-- I use the treadmill, rowing machine, cycles & skiing machine usually. Well, sometimes I do a few reps on the stomach crunching machine.. I also play netball twice a week, which I love *^^*
I goto the 24 Hour SuperSport and it's an executive gym. I pay like $70 a month so I might as well go every day. I usually play racquetball for an hour or so. As for free weights, I do around 5 reps of 10 in curling. The bar is like 40/45 and I put 10 pounds on each side. The problem now is that my right arm is substantially bigger than my left arm, ahaha. 5 reps of 10 for my shoulders (bar is 40/45, 25 pounds on each side. 5 reps of 10 for benchpresses (bar is 40/45, 35 on each side). I don't work out my calves because I used to run up my hill and I got some nasty big calves. As for my abs, I don't really care because racquetball doesn't really require them.
After all that, I usually hit the spa or steam room. Life is good...

70 5 Kilo Bicep Curls overall.(Dumbells)
300 2.5 Kilo Bicep Curls overall(Dumbells)
About 20 chinups
About 50 pressups
About 120 Situps.
That's my usual nightly. I'm naturally small and only a young 'un, so i don't want to overwork.
Also, i don't have facilties - i do this at home because the local gym is small.

We have a corporate gym, so I would go every time I went to the office. My favorite activities are the elliptical machines, the treadmill, and the strength training machines, though sometimes I also do free weights or the stationery bike. There were a few classes I took over the summer that I really enjoyed - one was a "core training" class for abs and back, in which we'd use free weights and one of those big exercise balls to do all kinds of activities. The other that I liked was called "pump it up" in which you do high reps with light to medium free weights on all major muscle groups. I used to call it "torture class."
Can't go right now because of health condition ^^; So I sometimes go for walks around the pond across the street from the company.
Most private gyms around here are really expensive. I only pay $15/mo. to use the one at work, or $25 with classes included. Bally's and 24 Hour and those other places are all really far from my house, and the private gyms here want you to pay about $1500/yr.

oo something I can talk about. funn :D
My workout is alot of cardo mixed(bike riding etc) with abs exercies and arms, shoulders, chest weights. I do most of my weights with dumbells(ranging from 30 to 50lbs) and sometimes the machines if i can't be bothered. No legs I think, well not atm, I can wait on that.
Almost 3 months and i am seeing the results already, my posture has changed and feeling less drained.

I used to do a lot of cross-country (for the school team). The best I ever got was 7th out of 65 people. I think that was a 3000 metre race (it was a loooooong time ago. haw.)
I still play netball for a team, as centre. Does anyone else play it? I love it XD
Am going to the gym in about 20 minutes. I should probably get ready.. --;

You guys are so silly.
I work with weights two times over a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, and I also go to the gym to work with weights on Saturdays and maybe Sundays. I'd go more often, but it's track season and on the other days I'm on track and we're running our arses off after school until 5 or 6. Speed drills, and training for races, but obviously the guy that gets from point A to point B fastest is the guy that's also the strongest. Thus the free weights and the gym. And our gym has the NICEST locker room and showers and spas :D I'd go there just to take a shower, honestly.
If you're going 4/5 times a week I don't think you're lifting hard enough.. and wow, the machines have names? Lat pulldowns, row, and pec fly, right? :P My coach would laugh at you if you did 40 reps of 45 on lat. We only do 8 reps but we do it 80% of our max, so lifting.. well, a lot more than 45. You're training for endurance, I suppose?
Your gyms are really cheap. The one I go to is somewhere around $2500 a month. It's a nice one, though.
I can't say I'm very fast, but that's because running intensely bores me. I try to go on a treadmill everytime I go on the gym, and I always hit it for 5mph 30min. Yep, that's the warmup. If I go any longer I'm going to fall asleep, I swear. They have those lil TVs and headphones attatched to the treadmill, but it's still boring. i don't know how the long distance runners on our team do it. Perhaps it's the pretty scenery that gets them.
So anyway, when I get to the gym I usually head for the free weights. There's a lot you can do with a bar. Cleans, split-hops, snatches, squats, and bench, then I go to the weight room and do quadriceps extension and lat pulls, 3 sets of 8 for everything. And we also have a flexibility room-- so I do situps, backups, and throwdowns, 3 sets of 30. Basically it's a full body workout and it takes more than an hour, but it's refreshing.
And of course there's stretching afterwards. Gym really kills time and whoa, did I really write all that? How quaint.

Cuz you know you have to work out too, so I'm just like, explaining it to you so you can go out and get buff.
I suspect I've spent too many hours analyzing ancient Greek and Latin manuscripts to apply as a very interesting or silly writer. I still resist urges to start my sentences like, "It is clear that blah blah blah illustrates themes of blah blah in character development and interwoven motifs throughout the play blah blah."
Sorry bout that.
I practice Tang Soo Do. I'm a big fan of martial arts (as most of you know already ;P).
What's it like? I used to take martial arts, but the teacher was racist and sexist. He kept on telling me what a pretty girl I was and not to get raped while lecturing before every class on how important school is and that you have to keep up your grades and not get boyfriends. He was a fanatic. Lifelong distrust of asians and martial arts. I'm sure it has some great qualities, though.

Lots of people on the board there go to the gym as well. Hahaha.
I do some aerobic exercise, mostly riding my bike 'round campus. Mostly I just like lifting. Originally I just did glamor muscles (biceps, chest...) and whatever machines looked interesting haphazardly, but during my senior year of high school my friend who is a wrestler and I were in a weight training class together and he got me into doing squats as well. I thought it was cool that only he (who as I said was this jacked wrestler) and I were doing them and all the girls in the class were like "EEEK!"
Then over the summer I started to become kind of a meathead, and now that I go to a state university I am even more that way. I like moving lots of weight so mostly I do stuff like deadlifts, leg press, bench press, etc. (don't really do squats anymore 'cause I got too strong on them and it was endangering my back =p). I lift like 5-6 times a week, sometimes only 4 though. I don't think posting my lifts would be appropriate here; that kind of thing belongs on the flex forum.
