Prom plans?

Hey everyone, just wanted to know (for those of you who haven't gone to the prom yet or that have and want to share their stories, post 'em here) what your plans may be for prom.

I actually get to go this year which is great considering a good friend of mine asked me (lil hesitant) I have a red dress (matches my dates hair lmao) from what I've heard, the prom theam is supposed to be heaven and hell (I so doubt it thou) Wish me luck with the parentals thou, my father already dosen't like my date ~bleh~

Prom has always been nice and special for me. The first one was with my ex, when we were in this kind of rocky point in our relationship... and that night... it's like, I guess when we really fell in love. :3 hehehe. That's wy the first one was special, in a way.

The 2nd one was my Grad Dinner and Dance... everyone just had a blast. Like everyone looked their best, were dancing... it was just pure fun. I didn't go with anyone then, but a lot of people went stag, except those with bf/gf... And man, believe it or not, going stag is fun. LOL. ;) Umm... just a lot of dancing on this one, and taking pictures, going crazy and more dancing. :) I wish they played more slow songs though. XD

lol that sounds so fun, this'll be my first prom (and I'm going with a SR, me being a Sophmore isn't bad thou) I hope I have that much fun, but with Rodney..I don't doubt I will have fun, slow songs or not, I'm so dancing xD I can't dance thou.

haha, my first dance... I dind't think I can dance either... but really, the technique is to shake your ass. LOL!!! ;) Everybody can dance... it's just they need to coordinate their dancing wioth the rhtyhm of the music, too. :)

Ugh. all the after-prom parties I've been to sucked. :3 Seriously. After-grad was half-OK, but that was an organized event by Grad PA... we had inflatable sumo wrestling >D>D>D

My prom was soooo BORING...but I can tell you that the after-prom parties ROCKS, it was the best of the night, I remember me and my friends got all drunk and ended up at 8am eating donuts at donkie-donuts, well we have proms here when you are 18 and you are allowed to drink! ^^

last year i went with an ex.. it was to the long beach aquarium, and the dance floor was too small, and the music sucked. and 15 minutes before the prom ended, the speakers blew out, so the dj thought it would be fun to bang a couple of things and call it music. so we got our parting gifts (of a crappy picture frame bottle thingnamajig) and left. But geez! my ex's friend had planned everything.. including the limo ride which was AWESOME!!! the interior of the limo had sparkely lights that glowed and they had a little bar thing (with soda) and the coolest seats ive ever seen. then his friends had decided to go to dennys and reinact the year before's prom (he was a year older than me). they were all having fun.. while i fell asleep XDXD. then we went to rite-aid.

so we didnt go to after parties.. i spend after the prom at a market and dennys :P

I'm being forced to junior prom by my friends. :x So this year it'll be a last minute preparation thing for me. They're making it a big deal because it's at the Fox Theatre (supposedly one of the best places for prom where I am from) so I'll be going in two weeks. I still need to find a dress and no date this time because of the last-minute-ness. Next year however for senior prom, I'm going all out. I'm getting my dress custom-made, hair done, and hopefully I can find a date. -_-; I am really looking forward to senior prom because of my dress. xD;;; It's gothic victorian *_*! I just hope the juniors next year won't make it at a ghetto place like...the zoo or something. >_>

:) Hahaha, don't worry Chaco, you're not that bad. For my Grad Dinner and Dance... I didn't get my dress till like a month before the day. Like... I had it custom made, and I should have found a seamstress months ago.. but I didn't. LOL. XD So we had to rush everything.. pay extra, etc.

I went to the junior prom, and a guy friend asked me for a dance. I guess it was pretty obvious I was uncomfortable being so physically close to someone else because he asked about it and said I didn't have to dance if I didn't want to. Hehe. But it was fun =). I also got to fool everyone into thinking I was wearing a dress/down when I was realling wearing a long jacket (like those Chinese tight dresses that button off to one side and slits going up, only this wasn't a dress, it was a jacket thingy), "kay po", if you speak Cantonese and matching silk pants. Very comfortable. :3

wah question! do girls bring purses to prom? @_@ I've never been to a formal dance thing so I'm clueless. xD;;;;;

Usually they bring tiny bag (http://www.jessicamcclintock.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&categoryId=10120&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10011) to keep stuff like keys, money, and id in.

Our senior prom was on a boat in the SF Bay :B That concept sounds nice (if you're not prone to motion sickness) and I love boats, but it actually wasn't all that cool. Most of the time we played card games or whatnot. The best part about senior prom was when we driving home to change after getting back from SF and the car broke down infront of my friend's house! It was all girls so we got out and pushed it to the side in our prom dresses. Bahah, good times :D

Yah, Chaco.. tiny bag. :) Usually they just put like cellphone, some money (like for me, max $20), make up, lip gloss and such. :3 Nothing valuable.

I missed the year prom was held in the same building as a queer convention. Friends of mine got to take pictures with drag queens and leathermen, it made me sad I missed it! Prom for me wasn't all that special but it was fun dressing up? It's one of those things you're "supposed to do" as a teenager or something, least that's what our history teacher once said XD

It's all with the shoes. XD from experience... dancing in the prom is one of the funnest things you do there. o.o;; don't get strappy sandals that can hurt your feet in prolonged dancing. your date might end up carrying you home (though that is also good depending on your case) ^^ and last minute diets are bad! your dress might end up much loose than you intended it to be.

hehe, my mom fixed my dress an hour before my date picked me up (i couldnt find a dress i ilked in the stores, so i wore one of my mom's old ones that she bought at a garage sale years before i was born XDXD) .she sewed the thing onto me =X. and shoes! dude, make sure you have pretty shoes youre comfortable in, cus once i went to a dance in dress shoes that didnt fit me too well or something, and they HURT like heck. I thought id lose my toes by the end of the night. also, make sure you have some sort of shawl type thing , cus you'll freeze and have to wear your dates coat (not like thats a bad thing.. but my date had a tux that had a tail behind it and it just looked weird.)

lmao, thanx peeps, I'll be sure to take lovely ones, espically when I'm done dancing and exhausted (can you imagine my hair B\ ) I really have to take pics for everyone so they can see meh date and me all prettied up (and when my dad or someone ends up putting Rodney in a choke hold E) ) much luv everyone, you all really seemed to have loads of fun at your dances and I'll be sure to make my first prom (I was asked freshmen year but got in trouble :whine: couldn't go) one of the best and most tireing xP

oh yes dear, shoes are way important, they can make your prom a pleasure or hell, so if you buy pretty but uncomfortable shoes try to walk with them around your house some days before your prom ^^

Hah, I wore comfy black clunky boots under my Renaissance style prom dress. My tafetta skirt was so large it wasn't like you'd be able to notice the boots I wore XD Winter formal was more comfy cause I wore a visuel kei-style suit so my boots were part of the ensemble oh ho ho ho.

I find that dieting is only temporary and often once you go on a last minute diet you binge after the first week or so. I think it's overall better to find an outfit that flatters your figure.

ohh lol. my mom doesnt really talk about these things to me.. well because in her world 'its not right'.. if i go to the basketball courts with my friends.. ahh "no boys right?" im like "uhh how should i know!" then she makes my dad go with me..lol like yesterday i went with a couple of friends to basketball court and my dad had to sit in the parking lot so no one will 'kidnap' us..lol.. there were boys.. and one of them were in my class who asked me for my ph. number!! lmao!! buut i tried to ignore him and my mom said i can go again..lol it can be a little hard for me...

let alone... i have only been to one of the dance.. just because i told my mom that it was a 8th grade pizza party xD.. no dances. no life. lol

My mouth dropped opened :O when I was 14 I went all alone to Ireland...with my classmates....boys and girls and we had a trip right after we finished highschool that we went to Paris and boys and girls slept together...if they wanted...I suppose that's impossible for you isn't it?And don't try makes you say stupid things and do stupid things if you don't control it. ^^
