i'm thinking about having my navel pierced. encourage or discourace me as you see fit?

I have my lower lip piercened and it rocks, if you are sure about what you are going to do, go for it, and if once you get it you don't like it, you still can take it out and you'll only regret that you wasted your money :D

I'm not a big fan of piercings (me=fear of needles... ), but I have a friend who pierced her navel several years ago, and it gave her a lot of trouble. There are apparently different types of piercings (rings, bars etc.) that work better with different navel shapes. Make sure the person who's doing it for you is experienced, and make sure that you get the right type, or you could be looking forward to many months of irritation, swelling and painful infections.

After almost 5 years of putting up with the pain, my friend finally got hers repierced with the right style and it hasn't bothered her since.

peircings scare me O.o.. well my only advice would be to make sure the needle is clean and the person giving you the peircing is certified.

Piercings are cool. I have two in one ear and one in the other ear, and a bar through my tongue :p getting tragus done next then navel.
Make sure you go to a professional piercer!

Gee, go you! My mom would never allow it u_u I only have my ears pierced ;_; I like piercings, and I think they look super-cool. The thing is, you gotta consider if you'll like it, say, 20 years from now. I mean, I'd love to have a piercing, but I'm not sure if 20 years later I'd still appreciate a hole in my navel. They do grow back, but I'm not sure if it's for everyone =// As with many things, you gotta consider all the pros and cons. But if you do get one, I salute you xD Piercings are just SO, SO cool <3

Hole will close won't it? it's like a tattoo, I remember I had to think too much about getting my tattoo and I got it after all and my friends always say that when I'll turn 80, I'll have a cool tribal on my back...*shrugs* T_T

hmm, actually, you're right. but it takes a different amount of time for everyone. for some, 5 days. for others, 2 years u_u; but actually, if you don't have anything in there and there's just a hole on your navel, it's not too noticeable, is it?
