yep so I think I'm gonna get one in june when a friend of mine turns 18, that way we can do it together...anyone have any cool designs or anything...or suggestions on how big or places where it won't hurt so friggin much?

I have a tattoo that i got last June'02 I tried to take a pic with my bf's cellphone camera but it did not turn out to well, anyway I'll show it. Mine is just above my butt and it is a little bit bigger that how it appears in the picture, it hurt like hell I wont lie, I think it was one of the painer experiences in my life. I looks cool to have a tattoo just close to your bellybuttom and also in your waist, also above your butt (like me) or in your back (a small one). The places where it hurts the most are your boobies and the inside skin of your arms but I think It will hurt anyway, so be strong and remember that It'll hurt for a few hours but it will last forever.

Don't go for something huge or to big, or a horrible design either, imo ;p (well duh)

I'm getting my second one in the near future (when I make a mad dash for Florida with a friend, she's my blood sister) between my shoulder blades, its of the double pentagram, I'm thinking about the side of 32oz fountain pop lid (hahaha) if not smaller. My friend’s getting the same.

I have one on my right hip; my best friends name (Jamez, the way I spell it) had it done in his own handwriting.

What I want:
A bar code with my social security number tattooed underneath it on the back of my neck.

At my school, there currently seems to be a trend to get tattoos. x.x; I currently live in China, where -as far as I know- there isn't an age limit on tattoos.

Pain wise, I think it really depends on how much pain tolerance a person has. I know one girl said it didn't hurt that much. She thought getting her bellybutton pierced was worse. But then another girl said it hurt like crazy and described it as knives slicing your skin.

I think you have to be at least 18 years of age.
It doesn’t really hurt, its more or less just annoying, mostly depends on your own pain tolerance...for me it’d be about...a 2 on the pain scale.

i dont even remember what is most painful to me. how would u know what is most painful lolz. only thing is piercing. but that was quick . bruise and cut from a knife.. =p

For some reason bruises hurt like a mofo...it seems like they wouldn't but they do xP
I think the most painful for me would be a snake bite...but again, that wasn't too bad...probably the most scary, not the most painful for me though...(only one I can remember so far)

I can offer some advice:

Don't go with something 'trendy', because trends always change, and the chances that you will change your mind long after it was done increases.

Do think about what you want for a while...Like months. If, after so many months, you still want the same thing, by all means, get it.

Don't get cheap on it...It is easily noticeable if you were a cheapass when you got yours done...

Keep in mind that the closer lines are together, the more likely they are to bleed into one another. Thus, it is very unlikely to have a small, intricate tattoo for a long amount of time. Say, more than two years. As such is the case, the bigger, (generally) the better quality.

Girls: If you have your tattoo done in a typically trendy place, like, the small of your back, above your ass, most other people with tattoos will laugh at you.

Guys: Tribal may be cool and all, but make sure you have a clear idea of what you want or get a sketch of what it will look like before you get it done...Otherwise, you may be very unhappy with what you have in the future.

For people who live in San Diego, I can reccommend one shop and one artist in particular.
The shop is Dutch Touch, in El Cajon. And the Artist's name is Cash. Good luck...

phedre's marque...it's a stylized version of a briar rose. to me it symbolizes a lot of things that i hold in high esteem and things that i hope to embody as i mature...

Don't settle for less just because you don't have the money for it right then and there...save up...then get the design you love.

Yeah I agree with Night, they need to be a bigger than the ones in the pic. But if, as you said, you want them to be small....you should still increase the size a little so that they at least touch your shoulder blades...otherwise it'll look a little weird >.<
