I half expect that when I post this entry, I'm going to get bombarded with people screaming at me and calling me a fucking closeminded shithead.

Anyways. Besides Met, I go on this other forum place. And although you get your share of the stupid people and the normal people, you also get a pack of people who've somehow climbed to the top of the ladder and therefore cuss everyone out and make everyone feel incredibly stupid anytime they want. It's like, you have to watch every move you make, or something, because if you do one thing wrong you'll get someone screaming at you for your stupidity. My belief is-- If you don't agree with it, put it politely, or just don't say anything. Don't come cursing the person out and completely reducing them to nothing, goddammit. grrr x_x

For example, this oen girl got a crew of people jumping on her and calling her a stupid fangirl and just eventually going against every single word she said, however unrelated to her original statement it may be. And WHY did she get people dissing the crap out of her? Uh, cos she had a Miyavi siggy. I seemed to have pissed off 3049309430 people because I don't like rap music and haven't been exposed enough to what is "decent rap", which I guess I'll try to check out soon. [mutter mutter] Maybe I'm too soft >_>;;

Anyway, why would you expect the same here? I don't think you're being closeminded and I think I can say with confidence that anyone who replies to this thread wouldn't think you are, either.

Well, yah, Miyavi does pretty much suck xD;; But I felt so bad for the girl!! There was nothing wrong with her post, she was just expressing her annoyance at the stupid fangirls that go along with something just because it's cool/the boys are pretty. And then someone goes "And this is coming from a Miyavi fangirl" and they started this entire argument thing with one side's proof basically more or less being the stereotype that all Miyavi fans are brainless.

Why did I half expect this here?
1. Too used to it on Go-Gaia
2. Haven't really been on Met that much anyways, since my computer broke around the time I started and I was sick of having it restart everytime I was almost done with typing a reply.

Well, when the whole genre--visual kei--places so much emphasis on visual, it's kind of difficult for you to argue that you like this band because of the music, especially if the people you're arguing with have no experience with the genre. Though I'm sure there are some people who really listens to Miyavi for his music (heaven forbid that person be me), like that girl.

It's best to stay removed from the forums, then you don't lose too much when some retard insults you because . . . it's just a forum.

How... dumb. I believe they haven't been educated to the fact that people are entitled to their opinions, even if the majority is opposed to the opinion. Just becasue they are part of the majority doesn't mean they can rat on someone and impose their beliefs upon others. 7_7 People shouldn't even be scared to voice out their disagreements, although voicing out disagreements politely is definitely the good way to go. But oh well, this is the online world, tons of people think they can just do shit and get away with it since it's basically a mask. Heck, even in real life, social climbers does the same stuff. :x *shrug*

I think there *is* a level of measurement re: how good a piece of art is, compared to another, but that level can only be gauged to a certain extent before stylistic preference takes over your judgement. I've come to accept the fact that Goth music is a dying genre (literally) and I'm just being an old fart holding on to what has now become a gimmick and mockery of its past.

What exactly IS "goth music"? I've never really gotten a clear definition, and I've never really gotten any examples of goth music. I know enough to realize that Dir en grey or Korn definitely are NOT gothic [mutter mutter glares at people at my school mutter mutter glare glare] but, uh, I sort of need some examples and a definition before I get a clear idea.

As for rudeness.. I come off as rude sometimes, but to openly bash someone's signature simply because of the person who was on it? Jeez thats kind of mean. And its not just the messageboard itself that is bad, its just that one (or the many) rude kid(s) that are members of the board. You find them everywhere. They say they're entitled to their own opinion, but in all honesty, I don't think they should drag down the opinions of others as while at it. People are just mean like that.

Yes, Karen is right. I sometimes have a good reason. But then that reason usually goes on a trip to Los Vegas and comes back all crazy and ticked off at me for no reason. Then goes to say everything that has occured since then has been but a lie. Oh well. As for being a hyporcrite I did not say anything about bashing being bad. I condole it. It is very amusing. On the other hand, Gaia seems to have a lot more members, which makes it much harder to moderate the various forums. I think if one is unhappy with a forum, one should leave; there's no reason to keep taking shit from people over the internet when it's so flexible.

Edit: I glanced over that thread at Gaia. What's so hard with naming a rock band in Japan that isn't VK? VK only came as a "genre" in the late 80s/early 90s . . .

I doubt they're mods... Those would have to be some pretty screwed up mods x_x; They're just like the older members who've been around way longer and everyone seems to know about. i've posted in other boards with fairly tame environments, where people are free to display their likes and dislikes, but the bashing people for their preference in certain subjects were not tolerated. the mods would either announce a warning to stay relevant on the topic discussion or close the thread if the trouble escalates to animosity (and or stupidity) amongst the posters active in the thread. i think the simplest solution is if you signs of elitism in a board, then avoid joining that community. it can't be worth your time if its members are just... plain mean. XB
