Metropolis Layout Contest Summer 2004

Now that the votes has been made, and the contest themes have been decided, without further delay, WELCOME TO METROPOLIS' FIRST LAYOUT CONTEST!

The themes this year are Anime/Manga or Video Games. You can submit an entry on either of those themes, or even both if you desire.

Contest Rules/Guidelines:
1) Layout must be suitable for all ages.
2) Layout must not degrade/insult anyone or anything (ie ethnicity, gender, religion, etc).
3) It must be viewable to most resolutions, which is most likely 800 x 600 or above. It is advisable to set your layout width to 775 pixels or less. It must also be a reasonable height.

Please submit all the images to this thread as an attachment or an off-site link. :D Deadline for submission will be announced by the end of this week. Good luck to all participants.

The success of this contest will decide whether another one will be held for the themes that made the Top 4 in the Polls. :)

I'd also like to add, that the final layout should include most if not all the buttons. The following zip files have allt he buttons the default vb3 layout uses, but we do not actually use all of them. You don't need to have all the buttons completed by the submission deadline, but please do have a sample of what your buttons will generally look like. Attached are the three type of buttons. Please keep them in the three seperate folders as that is how vb3 has sorted them.

While the image and sample buttons are sufficient for a submission, it may help others during the voting process if you could also provide a color scheme. This can be done in normal HTML such as here: http:/www.cityoflegend.net/rwen/1.html or you can use Geocities' WYSIWYG editor or front page or whatever. The idea if just to let people know how the colors work together, not to flaunt webdesign skills. Simple tables are enough. Just the color scheme for the front page is enough; submissions that win can be later fine tuned to include all colors of the board. =)

edit - I'd create a GTA design, but I doubt it would be appropriate.

okay, I have a temporary site because I no longer have a host. I actually threw together 4 designs and put them all there. Be warned, there are ads. I hate them... they mess up the layouts a bit.
