My mom thinks that chucking baby teeth onto the roof when they fall out will bring you good luck o_ o

There's certain sorts of moles in certain shapes that are considered "good luck."
Stinky! At Chinese New Year you're not supposed to shower for the week of the New Year's celebrations so you don't wash your good luck away.

My mom also says that we're not allowed to clean anything since that would be cleaning the good luck out =X
She also says that stepping in peacock poop would bring good luck.
My mom says a lot of things, actually o_ o;

Isn't that supposed to clean out the bad luck as well?
Also in Phillipine mythology , my mother says if a bird dumps on your head, it's supposed to be good luck. Well, I don't care if I'm lucky, get it off!

I've got no idea ;D I think the day is supposed to be lucky anyway so sweeping whatever happened during the day out would make you poor. Or something xD
My dad's head must be really lucky then O:
A peacock opening it's tail for you was said to be good luck as well. Why a bird showing off it's ass to you should be good luck . . I don't know.

Well, if you WANT a bird to crap on your head for good luck, you should come by my college....they're trying to chase away all the migrating birds with a giant gun-sounding thing in a truck....so far, no luck, although there's more poop on the ground now from the frightened birds........>_<
I think you're supposed to clean out before the New Year to clear out the bad luck and then not clean during the NY celebration??? Yes, no, maybe??? I haven't gotten to celebrate all out for quite a few years.....

Isn't it a thousand cranes? Or maybe that's the Japanese version.

Every new year, my mother would attach a string to a branch of 12 grapes and hang it from the doorframe of our front door for good luck throughout the year. It stays there until the new year and replaced if it falls off. XD
As for cleanliness, it's the opposite for us. We try to clean the house as fast as we can before the new year or else the house will remain cluttered for the rest of the upcoming year. I don't pay attention to that one myself and absolutely resist cleaning up when I'm supposed to be celebrating New Year's Eve. >_>;
There are also other superstitious rituals my mother follows, like wearing things with circles on New Year's Eve so you will be blessed with money, knowing that you will be recieving money on the day your palms itch, stuff like that. she still keeps the jars of rice, sugar and pennies she brought to our house from the day we first moved in. :33 I think it's because she grew up in a very rural area in the Philippines with people who believe all of that.
(I'll try to remember more. @_@ She has told tons of stories in my lifetime.)

Yeah, one of my Taiwanese friends just told me that the singers and actors in Asia tend to wear red underwear so they'll have good luck and become famous or successful etc. Oh, and you're apparently supposed to do the same thing if you want to win money in mahjong. >_<

For every chip in your fingernail, there is a guy out there thinking about you.

Every time your nose itches someone is thinking about you......
....someone has been thinking about me a lot then.
Also, when you get this weird sound in your ears (kind of like a long beep), someone is talking behind your back.
When I was little I read that if you drink water from a cup with a fish (dead or alive, I don't know), it's supposed to heal your illnesses...eww.

I would consider myself superstitious in the sense that I try to make an established routine to do things when it seems to work just the way I want it to...but I don't really consider myself superstitious in any other sense.
