How is it that we are alive? I mean, has anyone suddenly had a feeling like, "I can really feel this. I am actually aware that this is happening. But how?" I mean, sure, your brain, senses, whatever gives you all the information, but how is it that you really are aware of everything? It's like, what is your consciousness, and how is it that it's real and that you just know?
Hopefully that made some sort of sense. Everytime I try to explain thiis, it never really makes sense to the other person (and I feel awkward :snicker: ). I just wanted to know if anyone else had come across that kind of "feeling" if that's what it is. Let's call it a realization.
Hmm... I can't really say I give it much thought. I think at point I remember wondering why things felt/seem/are perceived as they are; and I decided that it shouldn't matter as long as it was something tangible to me.
As long as I feel it in the here and now, it is of no consequence to me how it occurs.
Though when I younger I once pretended that I lived in a snowglobe and everything I did and saw was part of a play concieved by the person who locked me in said snowglobe... :rolleyes: Yup. I was a cool child :cool:

If you like Descartes, his explaination is "I think; therefore I am."

Har. COmplicated Philosphy, psychology stuff. :B I don't really ponder these things outside of class discussions, since they tend to hurt my brainz.

Yep. I used to think about it quite a lot, but now I'm much more interested by human relations.

I, for one, don't really care much about how this all works...I just try to take advantage of it every day.

Used to think about it. Now I just realize its more important to interact with the things around us than to spend all this time debating whther they're real or not... :)

Well, if you continue thinking about it, there are sooo many possible answers or there are no answers at all, that you might have to spend a lifetime thinking about why you are alive.. then in the end, you'll realize that the answer is... so you can live it. :3 by then it would be too late since you already spent that lifetime trying to come up wtih that answer...

I'm still a bit confused by it... I mean, why are we alive and for what purpose? Do we even have to have a purpose? Then, I start thinking life is so surreal. And I feel like it is slipping away from me slowly, and I am not able to grasp it...
Is it all just an ongoing dream? And that doesn't even bring in the thought of death.
Yeah, I have some issues, I think. ^^;
