My best friend's sweet sixteen is very soon and I really wanted to get her something special. She (and a couple of my other friends) made me a scrapbook and I LOVED it! I was wondering if you guys had any other ideas for gifts that are personal like the scrapbook. (and not too expensive)

I buy the worst presents ever. Twinkies, Hair Gel, Stationary Hello Kitty stationery for a guy, Boxers, Underpants, Mints, Foot Cream . . .

But I guess if you want personal and not totallly taking the idea of a scrapbook . . . maybe you and a bunch of her friends could buy or make a gigantic card and each write something nice about her in it? You could decorate it with little things that remind you of how you're her friend, or good times, or something.

What about a photo album? I know thats sort of like a scrapbook. Is it Amy's? What does she like?

I love the big card idea! I saw this huge Snoopy card (she loves snoopy) at hallmark but I dont know if its still there..we can always make her one.

Sarah- Yea its Amy lol I would do a photo album but i dont think we have too many pics togather...

@ eyrie we did that for our friend who went to the US. Kinda cool. We put it in a laptop and used a projector during the party. Some kinda fun.

I generally think sweet sixteen is over-rated... but that's probably because I did nothing for it... pretty generic. I think I just went out to dinner.

But dinner with friends is AWESOME in and of itself. If you have something small and with your close friends its always more special than something big. The scrapbook idea is also good, and since its physical its easier to cherish it.
But I think all the ideas are good :D

i think a small get together + the scrapbook thing is a good idea.. XD i can't say much for the expensive thing, but i remember that when my friend turned sixteen, a few of my friends and i got together and bought her a cute necklace from tiffany's. we kind of took the easy way out. XD

I'm horrible with presents as well. >_> Especially personalized ones. XDDD

but you guys can make her a mixed CD with her favorite songs, and on the cover flap is a mini photo album or something. @_@
